Florida Gulf Coast University College of Health Professionals Building
Two schools come together in a facility that supports collaboration and wellness
Fort Myers, Florida
Kahler Slater provided program validation and design services for the Florida Gulf Coast University College of Health Professionals Building. Currently under construction, this new building will house the School of Nursing and the School of Health and Rehabilitation. The facility will offer new learning spaces dedicated to providing students with a state-of-the-art technology, including human simulation laboratories.
The comprehensive facility will include laboratory, classroom and office spaces that are environmentally sensitive and support collaboration and wellness. Classrooms, laboratories and conference areas for undergraduate and graduate students will be consolidated and all faculty offices will be brought together into one building. Well-designed gathering areas will bring students, faculty and the community together.
The facility houses 65 faculty offices, an advising center and state-of-the-art practice and simulation labs for nursing, athletic training, human performance, clinical laboratory sciences, occupational and physical therapy. The facility will support the growth of College of Health Professionals programs through 2020. Kahler Slater completed this project in association with a local firm, Harvard Jolly.
