Collaborating with one of the nation’s leading dental education and research schools

San Francisco, California

Kahler Slater is currently working with the University of the Pacific’s Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry on the programming for a dental school. The Dugoni School of Dentistry is widely regarded as one of the nation’s premier institutions in dental education and enrolls approximately 500 students annually. The study will assess the comprehensive requirements for a new 200,000 – 220,000 square foot facility to support both the current and projected clinical and research operations of the school.

As part of the programming study, the school seeks to re-examine past and current standards and models for dental education and develop new standards and models that will allow it to occupy the leading edge of dental education and research – all while allowing flexibility for future changes in the profession. The new school will include intimate team based general practice clinics, research labs, simulation lab, classrooms, lecture hall, problem based learning rooms, an executive seminar room, meeting rooms, offices, administrative work stations, faculty, staff and student lounges, a cafeteria and a school store.

The University of the Pacific has three campuses – Stockton (main campus), Sacramento (McGeorge School of Law) and San Francisco (Dugoni School of Dentistry). The new facility for the Dugoni School of Dentistry will also include a learning center suitable for delivery of select educational programs originating at the University’s other two campuses.
