Kahler Slater designed a four-story office building in the Reed Street Yards, a business park focused on the water technology industry. As the first proposed building in the development, the project is aligned with the sustainable design features of the park and sets the bar for future park construction.
The 80,000 SF office building will match the unique features of the site with the efficiency needed to support the changing workplace. The building is being designed to be able to achieve a high level of LEED certification.
Reed Street Yards is a mixed-use urban office, educational, research and technology zone focused on the international water industry. It is one of Wisconsin's first Eco-Industrial Parks (EIPs), a concept that seeks to balance natural resources and economic development. It features innovative water management strategies in its walkable scale, consistent with the surroundings. The site features a phased build-out of office, light industrial, associated parking and other supporting uses. Over time, the site will house more than 1,000,000 square feet of facilities and be the hub of an international water cluster.
