Kahler Slater planned and designed this comprehensive facility for Milwaukee Area Technical College which houses all of the College’s health occupations programs and services along with a child care facility. The hands-on health education building includes classroom and clinic space for the dental program (42 chair public clinic) which provides training for dental assistants and dental hygienists. The clinic is patient focused with a comfortable waiting room which simulates a typical dental practice. The Center also includes radiology; medical technician laboratory; renal dialysis; a nursing skills lab and a working day care center for 127 children.
The health sciences programs include actual hospital and clinical settings to provide students with real world hands-on training, and were designed for maximum flexibility to accommodate the changing needs of the health care industry.
