YMCA – Sussex Branch

Kahler Slater has recently completed preliminary conceptual design studies for a new YMCA “Healthy Lifestyle Village” in Sussex, Wisconsin. The concepts were based on extensive listening sessions conducted by Kahler Slater’s research team. The purpose of these sessions were to assess community needs and generate excitement about the projects.

The Waukesha YMCA has entered into a partnership with a local health care organization to deliver a “healthy lifestyle” approach in this community. The 75,000 square foot facility will be attached to a new 100,000 square foot outpatient clinic and will offer joint programming including health screenings, community health and wellness education, outpatient therapy and rehabilitation, aquatic rehabilitation programming, holistic medicine, stress management, and shared use of fitness equipment. The YMCA will also offer a three-lane walking/jogging track, warm water therapy/instructional pool, a leisure pool, community rooms, gymnasiums, a fitness center, and an attached but separate child care center.
