What it Takes to Make an Academic Workplace Environment Great

Expanding upon a key finding from the American Dental Education Association (ADEA)’s Dental School Faculty Work Environment survey, Kahler Slater presented results from our research study, which outlines the key attributes of what makes academic work environments great, at the 2009 ADEA Annual Session. Key findings include:

• The need for institutions to compete in today’s “creative economy” in order to succeed
• How well-designed workplaces incorporate the attributes from Kahler Slater’s "Great Place To Work" study
• Specific recommendations for improving academic workplaces
