For more than 60 years, innovation has been a guiding principle behind Stevens Construction. They were looking to create a space that brought that important characteristic to life and engaged Kahler Slater to design a new corporate office to accurately reflect the company brand. The new headquarters includes 35 offices, expanded meeting and conference spaces, a large training facility and spaces for additional corporate support functions. The final product is efficient and straightforward. Although not overly adorned, it is sophisticated and was executed with the highest level of quality.
Stevens Construction performs all of its own concrete and carpentry work, and the public spaces inside the building pay homage to their reputation of fine craftsmanship. The Douglas fir reception desk, board room table and paneling inside and outside of the board room were all custom built by Stevens Construction carpenters. The building is set upon a concrete plinth of post-tensioned concrete. On all sides, the building cantilevers out from the foundation wall, most dramatically at the front of the building where the board room and other conference rooms are located.
