La Masa Empanada Bar caters to Historic Brady Street’s fast-paced community by offering a grab-and-go take-out area, as well as a lively bar. The restaurant breathes reinvigorated life into a former drinks-only environment with a mix of worldly character and sleek, contemporary design. The material palette is authentic and timeless, including hand-crafted tile, rich wood tables and bar tops, a patinated back bar and hand-worked plaster walls.
Working with existing construction, the client was focused on modifying the space to offer a variety of dining experiences. They also wanted to make the space flexible and comfortable for groups of any size. The seating area is anchored by two high-top, centralized tables that are highlighted with impactful light fixtures overhead. The floor plan divides staff and guest experiences with factory-style windows and partial-height counters clad in hand-crafted tile. This allows for separation, but offers a peek through the expo window at the action of the bustling kitchen. La Masa's menu is based on traditional Argentinian recipes featuring locally sourced ingredients.
