Texas A&M University Center for Oral Health Care Clinic Building Breaks Ground

October 27, 2017

The Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) is currently partnering with Kahler Slater and local partner, BRW Architects, to design a new Center for Oral Healthcare Clinic Building. The impetus behind this project is to increase the college’s ability to provide state-of-the-art dental care to underserved populations and to train students from under-represented communities. Client goals include the ability to provide a patient-oriented clinical facility that improves the patient experience through efficient and exemplary design. In addition to efficiency, a state-of-the-art clinical setting is envisioned to more closely resemble contemporary dental practice environments and to enable the college to continue to provide excellent educational training. The project includes administrative spaces, faculty offices, education spaces and a 275-space parking ramp on the first three levels of the building. With the new Clinic Building, Texas A&M is seeking to increase its enrollment approximately 25 percent while still maintaining its current percentage of under-represented minority students (approximately 40 percent).
