Brookfield Public Market Prepares to Break Ground, Bringing a New Community Destination to Brookfield Square

Brookfield Public Market will celebrate its groundbreaking on October 10, marking a significant step toward transforming the former Boston Store site at Brookfield Square into a new destination for gathering, dining, and discovering local businesses. The project is a public-private partnership between the City of Brookfield, Visit Brookfield, and Irgens Development.

Designed by Kahler Slater, the market will bring together local food and retail vendors with outdoor event space and public seating. Shaped by community voices and local collaboration, the project places connection at its center, creating opportunities for residents and visitors to come together while supporting small businesses. Located at the north end of Brookfield Square, the market and adjacent gathering space will introduce new experiences to an established retail destination. Food and beverage offerings, community activities, and flexible event space will create reasons to visit, explore, and return. The vision extends beyond shopping and dining to a place that supports everyday interactions and community celebrations.
