Elgin Community College’s Health and Life Sciences Building Officially Opens

March 19, 2012

Elgin Community College believes their new facility will allow them to offer the latest technology to students and staff, as well as develop new certificate programs in the areas of diagnostic imaging, spa therapy and sterile processing.

Wendy Miller, EdD, Dean of Health Professions, states “The classrooms are spacious, complete with comfortable seating, academically friendly lighting, and wonderful views of campus. We’ve taken learning in health professions to a whole new level in this building.”

Kahler Slater served as the health sciences expert to work with local firm KS+A to program and design the new facility. The building’s open, glass-clad design offers a striking gateway to the college – one that will literally be a landmark for the community. Designed to be transparent in almost every way, the Health and Life Sciences Building celebrates the future of health care in Elgin.

After years of dreaming, planning, design and construction, we are excited to see our client in their new home.
