Jeff Piette recently served as a judge for the 2011 Athletic Business Facilities of Merit awards. A panel of leading sports and recreation facility architects were selected to focus on each submission’s sound design principles in the areas of transparency, organization, detailing, sustainability, functionality and appropriateness to their surroundings.
Winners were selected in September at the conclusion of two days of deliberation in Chicago. In early December 2011, the architects, consultants and facility owners behind each Facility of Merit will be announced at a reception at the Athletic Business Conference in Orlando, Fla.
