John Horky, FAIA, Receives Prestigious 2021 Golden Award from American Institute of Architects Wisconsin

April 8, 2021

We are pleased to share that John Horky, FAIA, received the 2021 American Institute of Architects Wisconsin Golden Award. The Golden Award is the highest award AIA Wisconsin can bestow on one of its members. The award recognizes dedicated leaders in architecture and celebrates contributions to the advancement of the profession.

As Kahler Slater’s fearless HR Director and Principal, John is a strong advocate for young professionals at the start of their careers by helping them navigate the licensure process to become architects. He is an equally as strong advocate for seasoned architects, always networking on their behalf and supporting their professional goals and growth. Additionally, John is a frequent speaker at state and national conferences and provides insight on the profession of architecture for the University of WI-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning (SARUP). For decades, John has held roles as board member of AIA WI through service as President, board member rising to President of the Wisconsin Architects Foundation, leader in the AIA WI Firm Award Committee, and chair of the Fellowship Committee of AIA WI. John currently serves as the Regional Representative on the AIA Strategic Council.

Congratulations on this significant honor, John!
