Martha Jefferson Hospital Officially Opens

Martha Jefferson Hospital, a member of Sentara Healthcare, officially opened the doors of their new replacement hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia on Sunday, August 28. Kahler Slater is proud to have partnered with a visionary client to make their dream of creating a new benchmark in community health care a reality.

Recently ranked first in Virginia in overall patient satisfaction, Martha Jefferson Hospital believes their new facility will allow them to strengthen their Caring Tradition philosophy, delivering better patient care. On an 80-acre site, the new 176-bed, 540,000sf replacement hospital joins the site of Martha Jefferson Hospital’s existing Outpatient Care Center, creating a centralized place for community residents to receive the majority of their health care services in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

A beautiful, hospitality-inspired design is paired with evidence-based design principles, LEAN thinking, Planetree's patient-centric components and sustainable strategies in order to maximize patient comfort and safety with clinical results.
