Reflecting the Character of a Community

Capital One
St. Cloud

St. Cloud, Minnesota

South of the Minnesota northwoods is the unique community of St. Cloud. A mix of urban, rural, nature and technology forces shape this growing city. Capital One expressed a strong desire to reflect the community, highlight the company values, and celebrate Minnesota Nice.

Kahler Slater utilized the four seasons—Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter—to aid wayfinding, organize design styles and celebrate the local culture. Seasonal imagery was located at each elevator lobby to identify the floor. These graphics juxtapose urban and nature photographs in the floor’s seasonal theme. A number of Capital One brand messages were integrated into the theming and located at strategic collaboration hubs in the workplace. The main identification sign for the workplace was a series of graphic ‘fins.’ From one side, the viewer sees the Capital One logo over an autumnal color palette. From the other side, the logo is presented over a field of spring green colors. The signage and environmental branding elements designed for this office elevate wayfinding and showcase Capital One as a great place to work.
