For over 120 years, Underwriters Laboratories has partnered with companies to support the ethical development, production, marketing and purchase of goods in order to deliver trust in products. At their core, UL is focused on helping to make the world safer for businesses and consumers. Given a growing global presence and several technological innovations, UL was seeking to enhance their global headquarters to better reflect their increased reach and service offerings.
UL engaged Kahler Slater to transform the outdated lobby of their headquarters into a modern customer experience center. This new environment engages customers, prospective talent, vendors and visitors in the company’s rich history as well as the breadth and depth of their current offerings. Several digital animations and touch screens as well as 3D printed objects enable guests to learn about UL’s impact in on daily life across the globe. Through a curated history wall, the viewer can acquire an understanding about UL’s vast impact over this past century. Designers also integrated the company’s iconic logo throughout the experience center. Their mark, emblazoned on millions of products across the globe, signifies trust, confidence and reliability.
