Hotel Laureum transforms the former University Club building at 924 E. Wells Street into a boutique hotel. The project preserves the building’s defining architectural character while adapting it to support a modern hospitality program. The design integrates updated building systems, efficient layouts, and contemporary guest amenities within the existing structure, balancing preservation requirements with operational needs. Hotel Laureum will include approximately 35 guest rooms, restaurant and bar spaces, and flexible event and dining areas. The reuse of the building reinforces its original role as a social gathering place while extending its life as an active part of downtown Milwaukee.

Scheduled to open in spring 2027, the project demonstrates how adaptive reuse can retain architectural legacy while supporting new hospitality uses in an urban context.
