Illumina, a large bio-tech company, was seeking a flexible and attractive new building to relocate to at University Research Park. The design challenge presented was twofold; support the flow of people, research, and manufacturing, within a building equipped for future expansions. The result is a 133,000 sf, two-story building placed on the north side of the property. This allows for future extension to the south, and utilizes the highest point on the site to maximize views of The Capitol and Downtown.

The exterior and central utility plant of the building blends cost-effective architectural pre-cast concrete, curtain wall, and store front glazing with a playful pattern of vertical mullion caps. In addition, sections of shingled metal panels clad wall areas in the office zones. The site includes 250 screened parking spaces.
