Irgens engaged Kahler Slater to develop a Master Plan to create Innovation One – a premier business campus to attract technology, medical, and research companies. The park is strategically positioned in the geographic center of Metropolitan Milwaukee and adjacent to the Milwaukee County Research Park and Milwaukee Regional Medical Center. Kahler Slater worked with the client and stakeholders to develop a full range of plans to foster dialogue for decision making in the planning process.

The site includes multi-tenant office buildings and a parking structure capped with an extensive green roof system and solar panels. The development supports pedestrians and connections to nature with a sidewalk network connecting to adjacent nature trails and parkland. Bicycle infrastructure is supported with ample parking, a rental bike program, and the buildings have showers and fitness rooms for tenant use. The site development and new landscaping is sensitive to support the nearby butterfly habitats. A series of biofiltration beds promote sustainable storm water management.
