Kahler Slater Deepens Commitment to Richmond and the Mid-Atlantic Region

March 5, 2021

As Kahler Slater celebrates twenty years serving clients in Virginia, and approaches five years in the Richmond community, the team is solidifying their commitment to the area by renewing their office lease for 2021. “While our team has been successfully working from home during the pandemic, we miss being in the office together and plan to welcome everyone back later this year. Having our physical office and local team is important for serving clients and fostering our collaborative culture. It also allows us to deeply engage with community organizations such as AIA Richmond, Safe Harbor, and most recently The Boys & Girls Club of Metro Richmond,” said Kim Bruffy, Associate Principal at Kahler Slater. Kahler Slater opened its Richmond office in June 2017.

Kahler Slater is doubling down in the Mid-Atlantic Region and has expanded its service offerings beyond their healthcare and higher education markets to include multi-family housing, commercial mixed-use, hospitality and sports & recreation. “Kahler Slater understands the importance of relationships. Our collaborations in Richmond are strong and continue to yield exciting project opportunities and solutions. We are proud to be just the right mix of local roots and big picture project experience to make an impact in Virginia,” said Trina Sandschafer, Kahler Slater Vice President and Corporate, Hospitality, Residential Team Leader.

Kahler Slater’s innovation and strategic growth planning have the firm positioned for continued success in the region. The firm has welcomed exceptional design professionals to the Richmond team and continues to seek new key hires. This growing team has supported the firm’s expanding portfolio. In addition to clients in Virginia, Kahler Slater has also grown clients in North Carolina, West Virginia and Maryland. “Early in 2020, we quickly developed a virtual design process using innovative design and communication tools that have allowed our people to be nimble and even more client-focused. Our design process has dramatically helped our clients achieve greater speed to market with improved design outcomes. This allows us to work seamlessly from anywhere,” said Al Krueger Executive Vice President at Kahler Slater.
