SSM Health Celebrates Groundbreaking for New Outpatient Center in Verona

Today marks an exciting milestone as we celebrate the groundbreaking of the SSM Health Verona Outpatient Center, a two-story, 37,000 SF ambulatory care facility with eye services, primary care, specialty care including ortho, women’s health, dermatology, nutrition and diabetes education, lab and imaging services. The building also features an Optical Retail space.

This project reflects a deeply collaborative, research-driven process:

• Integrated Care Team Model with self-rooming and dual-access exam rooms
• WELL Building strategies embedded throughout: daylighting, thermal comfort, acoustics, and biophilic design
• Energy modeling projects a 17% cost savings and Energy Star score of 88–93
• A balanced site strategy, modifying a portion of the site for the development while nearly 60 acres will remain agricultural

Designed by Kahler Slater and constructed by JP Cullen, the center is scheduled to open in 2026 and will create a lasting impact on the health and well-being of the community. We are excited to see this vision come to life with SSM Health.
