What started as one family's vision is becoming a place for an entire community. Inspired by Stella, a remarkable 10-year-old girl who was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in 2023, Stella’s Playground will provide a place where children of all abilities can play together. Milwaukee’s first universally and accessible playground will deliver a welcoming and engaging experience for everyone. 

The playground was designed around all things that Stella loves like dragons, swimming, riding her bike, and creating art of all kinds. It will feature inclusive basketball courts, accessible recreation spaces, musical features, and creative play spaces for exploration.

Kahler Slater and RA Smith are partnered to design and deliver this universally and accessible playground for everyone to enjoy.
