Kahler Slater completed preliminary conceptual design studies for a new YMCA “Healthy Lifestyle Village” in Sussex, Wisconsin. The concepts were based on extensive listening sessions which assessed community needs and generated excitement about the projects.

In a partnership with a local health care organization, the Y's vision is to deliver a holistic, lifestyle approach to wellness. The study resulted in concepts which included a 75,000sf facility which will be attached to a new 100,000sf outpatient clinic. By combining the clinic with the Y, the center will offer a full range of wellness services to the community, including health screenings, community health and wellness education, outpatient therapy and rehabilitation, aquatic rehabilitation programming, holistic medicine, stress management, and shared use of fitness equipment. The YMCA will also offer a three-lane walking/jogging track, warm water therapy/instructional pool, a leisure pool, community rooms, gymnasiums, a fitness center, and an attached but separate child care center.
