Phased renovation and reorganization for enhanced patient care

The University of Iowa
College of Dentistry

Iowa City, Iowa

As the dental education architect Kahler Slater led the programming, planning and design of The University of Iowa College of Dentistry facility, working in association with Invision Architecture. The project includes an addition and renovation to the existing building to provide a new fully accessible, welcoming entry for the College, clinical space for special care, endodontic and faculty practice.

The expansion provides new state-of-the-art classrooms and conference space which supports the College's vision of student-focused team-based education. The renovation of the building's clinic and research spaces enhance the patient experience by increasing the size of operatories, providing greater patient privacy and improving clinical flow and wayfinding.
