Emporia State University Opens New Nursing and Student Wellness Center

February 2, 2026

Emporia State University recently celebrated a major milestone with the ribbon cutting of its new Nursing and Student Wellness Center. The privately funded $18.5 million facility, brings nursing education to campus for the first time in the program’s 100 year history. The design integrates state‑of‑the‑art nursing simulation labs, classrooms, and student wellness and counseling services into one collaborative space.

“This is going to be a game changer for how we spark the curiosity and confidence of the future of the profession, address current workforce challenges in our own backyard for nursing and health care, and also build a happier, healthier Kansas,” said ESU President Taylor Kriley.

Congratulations to ESU and our partner clark | huesemann on this exciting milestone to expand nursing enrollment, strengthen student support, and address the ongoing nursing shortage in Kansas.
