Haggerty Museum of Art Wins AIA Wisconsin Inaugural 25 Year Award

August 5, 2026

We’re proud to share that the Haggerty Museum of Art at Marquette University has been selected as the recipient of AIA Wisconsin’s inaugural 25 Year Award, which recognizes design that has demonstrated lasting impact and continued excellence for more than 25 years after its completion.

Completed in 1984, the Haggerty Museum of Art was designed in partnership by David Kahler and O’Neil Ford (Ford, Powell & Carson).  It has been an important cultural asset for Milwaukee, demonstrating how thoughtful design can strengthen institutions and their communities.

We are honored to see this project recognized, particularly as we remember David Kahler.  The museum’s design continues to create meaningful experiences for the people who learn, gather, and connect there. Its enduring relevance is a powerful reminder that great architecture has the power to enrich life for generations.
