WVU Medicine Breaks Ground on Jefferson Medical Center Expansion

Kahler Slater is excited to celebrate the start of construction on a transformative expansion at WVU Medicine Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, West Virginia. Designed to support the growing Eastern Panhandle community, the project will broaden access to care, bring more outpatient services together in one convenient location, and enhance the overall patient experience.

The expansion includes a new 80,000-square-foot ambulatory care building featuring imaging, laboratory and ancillary services, centralized registration, multi-specialty clinics, and space for future growth. Connected to the existing hospital, the building will create a welcoming new front door for the campus and improve access for patients and visitors.

The project also includes a dedicated Oncology & Infusion Center in partnership with the WVU Cancer Institute, expanding access to advanced cancer care services closer to home.

Beyond clinical space, the project will enhance the campus experience through improved arrival and access, new outdoor amenities, and operational improvements that support patients, visitors, and staff.

The Oncology & Infusion Center is anticipated to open in 2027, with the new ambulatory care building scheduled to welcome patients in early 2028.
